Shepherd Mandhlazi was born in Bulawayo, and grew up in Mutare. Shepherd later came back to Bulawayo where he now resides. Shepherd studied for a diploma in education at Mutare teachers college and taught english language, integrated science and biology courses for several years until he left in 2004 to pursue the arts.
Shepherd completed his certificate in Creative Arts Communication with Amakhosi Performing Arts Academy and earned his Diploma in Creative Arts Communication and Multimedia, majoring in Script writing with the same institution.
Shepherd has been involved in outreach programmes primarily with schools, introducing schools to theatre at the Intwasa Festival koBulawayo. Two of his plays premiered at Amakhosi at the amateur level. He is currently a freelance writer and writing instructor, and has just finished the production of a short film.
Shepherd has lives in Bulawayo and has a child with his current girlfriend. |
