A Poem by Shepherd Mandhlazi

Everyone changes money on the streets
The banks will reap you off.
Ignore the bloody clashes,
just the ruling party campaining.
Just give the policemen some money,
they are not interested in your 'crimes'.
Get out of the way of the running vendors,
they are running away from the police.
Carry extra cash,  always
The prices go up every minute.
Those are not basketball courts you see,
just supermarkets with nothing to sell.
Go see the Victoria falls,
Go by road,
the chinese planes might fall out of the sky.
The open palm,
opposition symbol.
The raised thumb,
opposition symbol.
Well, just avoid gestures,
you don't want men in dark glasses following you.
